During this uncertain time, we have found it necessary to implement the following measures in order to keep both guests and staff safe and well. Please be aware that this has been designed to align with government guidance and our own risk assessment of the situation.
By completing the Guest Information/arriving to check in, you are acknowledging your receipt and acceptance of the following guidance.
All guests will be temperature scanned upon arrival. If any member of your party registers a temperature of 38°C or more, we will be unable to allow the booking to continue (temperature will be taken at least 3 times if a high result is indicated). We will obviously not charge any cancellation fee and the booking will simply be cancelled or rearranged if so desired.
We highly recommend monitoring your party’s temperatures prior to, and on the morning, of your departure as to avoid unnecessary travel.
Please complete the Guest Information laid out in the email. If your booking is for more than one room, we will need complete details for each one (indicate room 1, room 2 etc).
· Date of arrival
· Length of stay
· Number of rooms booked
· Lead guest
· Contact email
· Phone number that can be contacted before and during your stay.
· Full names of all members of your party, including children. (Passport numbers will be needed for nationalities other than UK)
· Car make, colour and registration.
This information will be printed as your registration form to be signed upon check-in. (Although some booking sites request this information, it is not passed on to the hotel and often not completed)

Check in is from 4pm until 10pm.
There can be no earlier check in due to the cleaning process that must take place.
No arrivals later that 10pm will be accepted – reception will be closed and there is no night porter.
If you arrive before 4pm, and there is room to do so, please park your car in our car park and inform reception that you have done so. As parking is at a premium in Ilfracombe, it is hugely important that we are aware of guest cars in the car park so that they are authorized.
Our car park is first come, first served, and cannot be allocated/reserved. The car park on the higher level is not linked to the hotel and you will be fined as it is a private company.
Parking is free on streets surrounding the hotel and spaces can usually be found on the hill opposite that follows a large loop. There are several pay and display car parks with charges clearly displayed. Please ask at reception if you are unsure.
Upon entry to the building, please follow social distancing suggestions and make use of the sanitizer stations, especially at reception. Distancing is clearly marked on the floor at reception and we ask that you do not allow children to run around the room, as this may lead to delays whilst sanitization takes place for the safety of other guests.
All members of the party, including children, will be temperature scanned. Assuming a normal reading, the lead guest will then be asked to sign the check in form and handed a ‘Welcome Pack’.
The ‘Welcome Pack’ will include:
· Sanitized key fob with a room key and front door key. The front door is NOT the car park door and the key works in the top lock (as indicated on the door and will be needed after 10pm).
· Key information about the hotel and facilities.
· A map of Ilfracombe.
· Tea and coffee, if requested on the ‘Guest Information’ form. (Soap, shampoo and plastic cups will be placed in your room before check-in)
Please use the lift as little as possible as it is a small contained space. We suggest when moving luggage or when accessing the upper floors.
Only members of the same household at one time.
There are sanitization points near each lift door.
You must wear a face mask when using the lift.
Movement around the hotel
Please try to walk to the right-hand side, when passing others in the building, and observe social distancing guidelines.
We do not require face masks to be worn by guests when in the building, apart from the lift – which is mandatory. Guests are more than welcome to use their own face mask should they feel more comfortable in doing so.
Please try to use the front door where possible. This helps to avoid excessive movement past other guests that may be sat in the designated bar seating.
The gym and public toilets will remain closed for the season.
There are 3 sofas in the lounge area for guests to relax, please observe government guidance when using these.
There are 4 tables in the bar area that are reserved for guests wishing to use the bar facilities. We kindly ask you not to approach the bar – menus are on the tables and drinks can be ordered from reception. Your order will be brought to your table, and contactless card payment will also be taken at that time.
In order to adhere to government guidance, and for the ultimate safety of other guests and staff, we can only allow one room per table – even if a multiple room booking.
Guests will be asked to reserve a time for breakfast during check in, and then during breakfast service for the next day.
Breakfast reservations can be made between 8am and 9.30am.
We will endeavor to reduce numbers in the dining room and ensure distancing. Please do not gather in groups and please do not converse across the room as this increases the projection of a virus.
Guests who would prefer to have breakfast in their room, can take advantage of our ‘Continental in a bag’, which will be delivered outside your door at a time booked with reception the previous day. (available between 8am and 10am- please enquire at reception)
There will be no housekeeping for the duration of your stay (under 7 nights).
Towels will be exchanged, and other items supplied as per the information in your ‘Welcome Pack’ and using ‘Room Request Forms’ - housekeeping will not enter your room under normal circumstances.
We understand that accidents do happen. Should bed wetting, spillages, breakages etc happen, please speak to reception so that we resolve this issue in a safe and timely manner.
If your stay is for longer than 7 nights, please speak with the person on reception, so that we can negotiate a convenient day and time to change bedding.
We kindly ask that you address any matters of concern with staff before the day of your departure. This allows us the opportunity to resolve any issues before the end of your stay. As staff will be busy with breakfast service, it also avoids any delays in your departure should no one be available.
Please leave your key in the basket on reception.
